UPS Oversized Shipping Change

New UPS Dimensional Weights added to CatalogRack.com

January 3, 2007

Effective January 1, 2007, UPS REPLACED its long standing "Yes, OS1, OS2, OS3 and No" classification system for calculating “billable” shipping costs, with a new “Dimensional” (DIM) Weight process. This immediately affects several hundred thousand part numbers that are shipped via UPS Ground in their own ‘self shipper’ cartons measuring GREATER than 3 cubic feet (5,184 cubic inches)

If you are one of the 12,000 plus resellers (3500+ locations) using our FREE Industry Service, CatalogRack.com, you will see BOTH the “NEW DIM billable” weight, along with the product’s “actual” weight. All the DIM weight calculations have been done for you, so you will instantly know the “Billable” UPS rate for several hundred thousand part numbers as of today.

For those companies which have not signed up for this FREE “Electronic Catalog Rack”, to supplement your paper catalog rack, go to Instant ON! Sign-Up, answer the key business qualification questions and you will be up and running in less than two minutes. With CatalogRack.com, you can avoid the surprise of increased freight costs for those “special order” items. You won’t have to absorb the cost or charge more to your customers when they pick up the product.
